Books and Cookies – Presentation Success? (November 23rd, 2022)

As soon as I walk through to the library, I see Pep, and she says that it will just be her and I presenting. So I go “why?” both in a sense of curiosity, and embarrassment. To see that the books and cookies will be miked up. We had to wear lavalier mics, for the entire session. Oh and for context, we were to present about our service group, Hope For Kids. So, we go through the slides and we both on the spot mention on which slides to present. Not a lot turned up but we at least managed to get through the presentation. Overall, it was just about our service, talking about our previous accomplishments, our goals for the year, the successful bed-linen drive, and the upcoming cricket match. I think that it was a pretty good session, and we did have a good amount of time for questions. I recall one of them being “As service leaders, what is the work you do compared to what the others do?” I replied by saying, “There is no hierarchy within our group as we share an equal amount of work among the group. It’s something I find cool about this service group.” With that, we were surprised with a total package of toys for the kids donated by the library.
