CAS Reflection

This semester has been very busy with the Spring Gala, school assemblies, SAISA Music, and service activities. As a member of the school concert band I got the opportunity to perform in the annual Spring Gala concert which was a fun musical evening filled with different performances from students in different grades. This semester I also took part in SAISA Music and I really enjoyed this experience because I made a lot fo new friends from different parts of the world who share the same passion for music. It was a bit challenging to  me at first because I am not a singer but I stepped out fo my comfort zone and gave it a try. I learned a lot about singing in a choir and this opportunity led to more opportunities where the SAISA Music choir was asked to perform in two school assemblies this semester. The concert band performs at the annual graduation ceremony in school. This year graduation is not he 1st of June and as a member of the school concert band I have got the opportunity to play for this event. Since this is a formal event we played classical music and I found this quite hard to play because I have only been playing the cello for a year but I did some extra practice at home which has helped me to perform better.

We only did two service activities this semester one of which was the end of year service party which we organized and the Valentines Day cards we made with he children for their parents. I was appointed as the Temple School service leader for the year 2019-20. So during the last few service sessions me and my co leader planned some activities we could do with the kids for next year.

Overall I enjoyed all my CAS experiences this semester and I have learned a lot about working collaboratively, planning CAS experiences in a manner which will not interrupt my academics, it helped me to open my eyes to the problems the society which I live in have and how I can contribute in my own little way and most importantly I learnt a lot from he challenges I faced and I see these lessons as tools which I will add to my tool box and I hope that these tools will come in hand later on in life.
