With the commencing of ASA’s and Service earlier last month, I decided to join the advocate to try something new and have a new experience. The Advocate is much more than a literary magazine as it consists of not only poems and prose but also photographs and artworks by the OSC students. I chose to join the Advocate team as it would give me a new experience and give me an opportunity to showcase the creative aspirations of the students in my school in a unified and compact manner.
Before the arrival of COVID, the Advocate magazine would be published in a hard copy however due to school closure and other obstacles we decided that it would be to try something new and shift to a PDF form from a hard copy form. In Addition, As being one of the members of the Advocate team, I am excited to announce the launch of the Advocate website. The website will showcase the works of the students and for the sake of convenience contains all the previous editions of the Advocate magazine and even the newest one which you can check out right now!. I, along with two of the members will be continuously updating the website with all the newest submissions and newer editions of the magazine.
Even though I haven’t been in the advocate for a long time, I can say that I have contributed a lot in the short amount of time being there. I have worked long hours along with my colleagues to build this website and make sure everything works nicely. Moreover, I also helped in writing emails for teachers, students, and parents about the advocate submission and the release of our new website.
Overall, I am pleased with the amount of contribution and effort I have put in over the course of a few weeks and will continue to do this in order to give the students of the OSC community to showcase their creative aspirations.
