As a service we are planning to have our yearly event Home Run (5km run) for the first time since 2020 due to COVID-19. As we had done in past years, we teamed up with another service Care for Paws, to also allow dogs to do the run with owners. The event is planned for the 23rd of April and we have a lot of planning to do before then. A important task which needed to be done was creating posters to advertise the event to as much people as possible. As I was tasked with this activity, I wanted to implement creative aspects in order to concisely display information in an easily understandable and clear way. The final poster is represented above and was made using online platforms such as Canva. Another interesting element which we did was adding a QR code to the poster which displayed the route of the track to everyone, making it clear on how far and where they had to run. The event cost 750 Sri Lankan rupees to enter and all the money raised will go to partly charities and supplying ourselfs with raw materials to fund our secondary target of working with a school to get them basic essentials. Through making this poster and planning the Home Run, I engaged with CAS elements of “Demonstrating how to initiate and plan a CAS experience”.
