SAISA winner volleyball 2023

The volleyball season started a few weeks ago. I signed-up for volleyball because I had a goal, my goal was to make the SAISA team in order to represent OSC during this tournament. This is my first year of playing volleyball, I also signed-up last year but because of a shoulder injury I had to stop before the selection.

After a month of training and a thumb injury, I got selected for the volleyball competition that happens in Sri Lanka at the beginning of November.

We played three games already in order to gain experience for SAISA.

The score of the first game was 2 sets to 2, I played 1 set and  half. The second game we played was easier. We won every set (4-0) and I played a little more than two sets. The third and most recent game we played was way more difficult, we were playing against an experienced team, older and better than all the other teams we played. We lost all four of the sets.

SAISA:

The time of the tournament has come…

On the first day we played against two teams, the first team against whom we played was Lincoln (Nepal) after a good first set that we won. Playing the second set, it was harder but we managed to win too.

On the same day in the afternoon, we played against ACS (Jordan). After winning the first set, we had a harder second set but we still managed to win it.

The conclusion of the first day was that for both games our first set was perfect, we played well but the second set for both games were much harder because we thought we already won the game even though it wasn’t done.

The second day of our tournament we first played against: ACS from Jordan and AISC from Chennai.

In both games we did a very good first set as the day before but after during the second set we played really bad. Especially against Bombay when we were down 12-1, we managed to make a beautiful comeback to win our game 27-25. Against Chennai the same scenario happened, our second set was really close but again we managed to win the set 27-25. The result of our second day was 2 wins and 4 sets win with no losses. At this stage of the competition we didn’t lose any sets and games.

The third day of the competition arrived and it was time for the final phase of the tournament:

The third day  we played 3 games.

Our first game we played against Nepal (Lincoln school), as the first day we won this game but it was easier than the first day. The second game we played was against ACS (Jordan), we played them on the first day too, and as the first game we won the game. At the end of day 8pm, we played the final against TAISM (Oman) . In my perspective they were the second better team in the tournament. After a hard first set  that we won, the second set was much harder and we lost it. The third set was also tight but we won 25-23. However in the last set we played very very well and managed to win 25-15. After this beautiful last set, we were declared champions of the SAISA volleyball tournament of 2023!!!
