Gecko Inc. service group welcomed Vidyaloka school students to our school to teach them basic swimming skills last week, November 23. The visiting students and our service members had a great time working together in our school pool. The young guests were taught the “freestyle” swimming stroke, as they were all beginners who were only now learning the essential skills of how to swim.    

Gecko Inc. is a service group that focuses on helping Sri Lankan children learn crucial swimming skills for their development and safety. Considering that Sri Lanka is an island, a child’s ability to feel safe and confident around water is critical to preventing drownings, which are still sadly all too common among both children and adults across the country.
