Ista Taps Hanoi 2024
Despite being relatively inexperienced in acting, I was honored to be nominated twice as an acting participant in the ISTA TaPS Hanoi 2024. This incredible journey has been filled with personal and artistic growth. Participating in two international theater festivals, including ISTA TaPS, pushed my boundaries as a performer and provided a unique platform to collaborate with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Engaging in these festivals was a transformative experience that went beyond acting. It encouraged cross-cultural exchanges and collaborative creativity, allowing us to explore various storytelling techniques and theatrical traditions. Working alongside talented peers from around the world, I honed my craft and gained invaluable insights into the nuances of international theater.
One of the significant highlights of my theatrical journey was creating a stage plan for an environmentally-conscious play in the park. This project required innovative thinking to blend art with environmental sustainability. I focused on utilizing natural settings and resources to enhance the narrative while minimizing ecological impact. This endeavor not only raised awareness about environmental issues but also demonstrated the power of theater as a medium for social change.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to remix a scene from a Singaporean sitcom, which was both challenging and rewarding. This involved reimagining the scene and adapting it for a theatrical setting, infusing it with new energy and perspective. Our rendition received high honors, reflecting the hard work and creativity that went into the production.
Overall, these experiences have been pivotal in shaping my passion for theater, teaching me the importance of collaboration, cultural appreciation, and creative problem-solving. They have inspired me to continue exploring the world of performing arts and use theater as a tool for connection, expression, and positive impact.
