Alex’s CAS Journey

My extra-curricular activities at OSC

Gecko Net Saisa season 2 work

During the second SAISA season, I dedicated a significant amount of effort to ensuring comprehensive media coverage for the SAISA events at the Overseas School of Colombo (OSC). Here’s a closer look at two key projects I undertook:

1. Creation of the OSC SAISA Track and Field Promotional Video:

The promotional video for OSC’s SAISA Track and Field event was a project aimed at capturing the spirit, dedication, and excitement of the athletes and coaches involved. To achieve this, I meticulously planned the content and structure of the video, ensuring it not only highlighted the history and significance of the event but also motivated and energized the student-athletes and the OSC community. The video incorporated dynamic visuals, including action shots of training sessions and previous competitions, combined with interviews from athletes and coaches sharing their personal insights and aspirations. The use of upbeat music and engaging graphics contributed to creating an inspiring narrative that resonated with viewers and heightened anticipation for the event.

2. Coverage of SAISA Girls Football at OSC – Gecko Net:

Coverage of the SAISA Girls Football tournament was executed through Gecko Net, our school’s media platform that brings live updates, reports, and highlights to the OSC community and beyond. My role involved coordinating with the Gecko Net team to ensure thorough and timely coverage of the matches. This included live streaming fixtures, capturing high-quality photos and videos, and providing detailed match commentary and analysis for our audience. Additionally, player interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses were featured to enrich the coverage, celebrating the skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship displayed by the teams. This comprehensive media coverage not only created a vibrant narrative of the tournament but also facilitated greater engagement and support from the community, showcasing the talents of our student-athletes to a wider audience.

Overall, these projects were instrumental in promoting the events and enhancing the visibility of our student-athletes’ achievements, thereby fostering a greater sense of community and pride within OSC.
