Yoga

I have been doing yoga every Wednesday with some ladies that live in my building, with our amazing instructor that comes in. I have done yoga in the past but since I was younger I didn’t have a lot of patience and I didn’t see it as something I liked at the time. But since I wasn’t doing any sports lately I figured I would give it another try. And I really enjoyed it! Every session we usually start with a meditation, where we set an intention for our practice and I have never done that but its really impactful by the end of each session. Once we have finished our mediation which is usually 5-10 minutes, we move into the more fitness and movement part which we do for around 1 hour. This is the part to yoga I have never really done before, I really enjoyed it though. I like movement and I think the reason I didn’t enjoy it as much in the past was because it was a slower pace and didn’t feel right to me. So doing this type of yoga was really nice. Once we do that for an hour we do a cool down where we just focus on our set intention from the begging and control our breathing, then we bring our attention back to our body’s.

One thing about yoga is doing it with people. I have tried doing it a few times by myself but I don’t find it as effective. so doing this with others really motivates me to go every week and to do it for over an hour. I think committing to doing this has really benefited my mental and physical health a lot and I’m so glad I gave to a chance and I hope to improve by the end of the year. There are some poses and motions I have trouble doing so I’m making it a goal for myself to keep trying and be able to do them soon.
