Our Service Video

im in gecko inc service, which is where we teach local kids how to swim. Usually that would mean we would have them come to the pool at OSC every Thursday for an hour and would teach them new skills, to teach them to swim. But since Covid-19 has prevented us from being in school we have been focusing on how we can still provide them with information from a distance. So our service came up with a few ideas. One was to create and Instagram account, so that we can post information abut our service, information about swimming and also so we could post informational videos for the kids.

Once we had some ideas planned out we continued to progress our ideas. We made the instagram account and we made some scripts and planned out some video ideas. Once we had some ideas for different videos we set a date that we could meet and film.

One day we went to Giulia’s to film. We had the boys in the pool this time and Giulia, Fiona and I filmed. Since covid-19 was still preventing from going to school we wanted to limit the people coming to the filing process, so we just did the DP students this time. Hopefully in the future we can have everyone join the process of making the videos.

Working with this group of people was really great, everyone had a job and we all had worked together to plan out the entire thing before hand so when it came to the filing process we all wereorgangzed and prepared. This video that we made can really help kids at any age. we tried to make the video as clear as possible so any one can follow it. Swimming is such an important skill people should learn and if we can help in any way we will. Even if its just making an informational video explaining how do to some small skills that people can practice, can make a huge difference for some. Here are some pictures from us making the videos…
