New Beginnings with Drums

Ever since season 2, the workload at school as increased by a lot and at the time I was struggling to attend my Wednesday lessons with my dum teacher at school. I missed about 2 lessons until he eventually gave up my time to somebody else. I was quite salty about this but I have to admit that it’s completely understandable and that I can’t blame my music teacher for making this decision. Because of this, I had to find a new teacher. I wasn’t able to play for quite a few weeks because of this, but now and then I’d go to church and practice on the drums. In the video below, theres a short clip of me playing after a very long time with the rest of the band members, I did a very simple rock beat that was the easiest thing I’ve learned but I’m proud to say that I know much more than just that 😅.

A few weeks after this had happened, I was able to find a new drum teacher. This person trains another drummer at our church and he plays at all our big conferences. He has a twin brother and they both own a restaurant called “Twins Cafe”. He is one of the best drummers in Sri Lanka and it’s been such an amazing experience being able to learn from him. My friend Stephie donated a rubber drum pad to me so that I could practice different ways of holding the drum sticks. My teacher gave me a few exercises to do with the drum pad, I have to try and do hits to the beat of a metronome for an hour! Its good practice for me and I’m glad that I get to practice with someone from our church since they understand the type of music that I aim to play.99a6abaf-3368-423a-9c5d-f5ee6aed15a0
