CAS Project – Reflection
Yoosuf, Thisath, and I are service leaders of Gecko Network, a service group that aims to produce content based on the different activities that take place in the school community. The 2023-2024 school year was a busy year with many events that took place within the OSC community and as a result, we captured a lot of moments of students engaging in activities beyond their usual learning at school. We wanted to use what we had to show prospective students, teachers, and parents a different angle of OSC. Our opportunity came during the Open Day on the 30th of March.
We planned to select some of the best photos we had taken of our community doing sports and service and to provide them to the School Marketing team to distribute to the visiting parents and students who were on campus on the 30th. The photos were taken by Yoosuf and Thisath and I was in charge of creating background for them as well as communicating our idea with the marketing team.
The marketing team loved our idea and said that they would display these images on the screen at the front entrance where many of the students and parents will walk through.
Through this process, we were able to give prospective students and parents a view into the different activities that take place. The project incorporated aspects of service and creativity and hopefully in the future, physical prints can be given to visiting students and parents as a souvenir of their visit to OSC.
