Lighting For Winter Gala

This year I did the lighting for the Winter Gala which was a concert that had many different types of performances. It was also interesting because the stage layout was different from previous years and some of the larger group performances incorporated the audience into the performance making it an interesting challenge to make sure that there was enough light everywhere. I have done lighting previously for the Gala when Ms. Duncan was in charge and it was different this year because Ms. Duncan found it difficult to perform with colored lighting which made it difficult to make the stage look good but Mr. Kim pushed that we used more colors to make the concert seem more lively. After doing the lighting for senior production, the cues for the Gala were much easier because the performances were longer and there were no quick changes in the lights. It was also great working with Mr. Kim because he was very well organized and had an excel sheet with everything he wanted which made my job easier.
