Justice & Equality T Shirt Sale and Bake Sale!!

SHIRT SALE

It all started with an idea and a whole lot of determination. After putting in countless hours of hard work and initiative, we finally got the chance to sell out t-shirts. Honestly, there were moments when I doubted if we could pull it off, but now I can proudly say it’s been an incredible success.

I had the privilege of connecting with Ms. Sue from Gecko Gear, who provided invaluable guidance on everything from contacts to budgeting. From this point my job was to design the shirts and I decided to go with a simple yet powerful message: “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights.”

But let me tell you, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. With just a few weeks to finalize the design and coordinate orders, it was a race against time, especially with the SAISA girls football event coming. But thanks to the support of Ms. Kristin, we made it happen.

And the response? It exceeded all our expectations. Not only did people love our shirts, but we also made a significant profit, which brings me to the heart of our mission.

Yes, selling shirts is great, but what truly matters is the impact we’re making. Our goal is to support survivors of sexual assault through the Sambol Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting women and children affected by violence in Sri Lanka.

So, while we may not have another official sales date set, if you’re interested in supporting our cause, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re also planning something special for Women’s Week because empowering women is what this journey is all about.

Reflecting on this journey, I can’t help but feel incredibly proud. If it weren’t for the determination and hard work we put in, this dream would still be just that – a dream. But now, it’s a reality, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.

Don’t forget to check out the Sambol Foundation’s website to learn more about the incredible work they’re doing.

BAKE SALE

Our first bakesale was a total success, this was a team effort, we had a ton of delicious things that were sold during Lunch for secondary and primary, i brought some banana cake that i spent a while making, which you would think is easy but in my opinion i can say that baking is not my forte. We divided our times between everyone working at service so that we could be more efficient and everyone had the chance to give their help. We sold everything which is really impressive as it was the first big event we organized this year. At the end we raised \ a total of (approx) 57,000 RS, which is 175 USD!!
