Donation drive to Puttalam
Our goal? to significantly improve the quality of life for the kids in Nagamadu village, which is tucked away in the Puttalam district. Many intelligent young individuals confront everyday obstacles that most of us find hard to comprehend – ranging from overcoming malnourishment to not having access to basic hygienic supplies.
However, thanks to your kindness and the community’s commitment, we were able to deliver optimism and support right to their door.
Our team set out on a journey full of empathy and tenacity on April 5. Equipped with a great deal of food supplies and thousands of necessary sanitary napkin packs, we embarked on our journey to Nagamaduwa Maha Vidyalaya School, our initial destination. But that wasn’t the end of our mission. We continued our commitment by bringing even more sanitary pads for young girls at Thillaiyady Muslim Maha Vidyalayam School in Puttalam Town. This is an important step in removing barriers and raising awareness of menstrual health issues.
As COMUN’s head of media, I had the honour of capturing every second of this life-changing experience on camera. Every moment that was photographed, from the grateful grins to the team spirit, expressed a powerful message about the strength of compassion and solidarity.
But without Nayara and Avi’s constant work ethic and leadership, none of this would have been possible. Their compassion and service have motivated us all to strive for even greater levels of compassion and service.
Here you can see the instagram post i had to post to the official COMUN page
