This new year I have made a point to take upon cricket, as a sport which I could enjoy and play with other mates from our school. Our small, yet flourishing community of fellow cricketers meet every Tuesday after school to practice and improve our skills in batting, bowling, and even fielding. To put our skills into test, we participated in Second Innings Cricket Cup, on Sunday of April 23rd. The charity tournament included teams in groups of 6, from all over the island. Our school also had 3 teams, and I was given the honour to be part of The Bahamas. We played well, with all our grit and determination, but sadly the team we were up against proved to be a better side, and we were knocked out early in the tournament. Regardless of the outcome, it was a fun and engaging way for us to get together and participate in something like this outside school.
