Housing and Habitat in collaboration with Sustainable Gardens service created a project to make flowerbeds in various locations around OSC. Students took the initiative to spend numerous hours inside and outside of school hours to bring the idea into reality. My job was creating a video which highlighted the schools efforts towards eco-schools inorder to get certified. ECO-schools is a large scaled sustainable school programme to make positive improvements towards the environment. In addition, I created a Op-ED about ocean acidification, as we analyzed opinion writer, George Monbiot and understanding his style of strong non-literary text as we try to demonstrate our schools acknowledgment of serious environmental concerns and how OSC strongly incorporates environmental awareness with our core subject learning. This project was a good day to teach the 7th graders to operate the Ronin, giving advice about perspective, angle and positioning for videos. This would allow our service to be better, in terms of efficiency where we can divide the people to make even smaller groups, helping us complete more assignments from teachers and service leaders without the concern of low grade videos. The next project-Senior Production.
