On this three day weekend, my family decided to spend the week at a nice hotel down near the very southern point of Sri Lanka or Weligama beach. the hotel was quite hard to get to with my dad driving down the wrong road and nearly scratching the hired car. But the hotel was quite nice with a nice view and interesting architecture with some of the palm trees going into the building. On Friday, I spent some time relaxing and unbeknownst to me my family brought a few boogie boards which I decided to try out. My mom and a few family friends had also played in the waves and they helped show me what to do. After a few lacklustre attempts at boogie boarding, I later ended up going almost all the way to the shore by the end of the day and had learned the basic tricks to it. on Saturday I, unfortunately, did not swim as I had unfortunately not put the sunscreen on right and had a case of sunburn, so I spent most of that day ether relaxing in the shade or my room. On Sunday the last day at the hotel. I decided (with some nagging from my dad) to go out again and have some fun with the boogie board before we went back home. it was a very fun hour in the ocean remembering what I had learned about the waves. on the last ride with the boogie board, I ended ridding the wave, All the way to the shore.
Thanks to this experience I know very well what I will want to try again the next time I head to a beach.
