Over 3k steps a day challenge

Getting your exercise done in the midst of a pandemic can be difficult for many people. I would consider myself to be one of those people but I had an urge to overcome it as I wanted to be more fit. To help with this, I created a challenge for myself which consisted of a monthly challenge for four days where I walk more than 3000 steps.

Walking is proven to have major health benefits. Some of these benefits include improving mood and mental health, increase cardiovascular fitness and reduce an individuals risk of developing health conditions such as heart diseases, cancer and diabetes. As you see, these advantages were major deciding factors in my sudden motivation to exercise and become fitter.

In addition, I tend to get stressed by the immense amount of workload I get because of senior year. To calm my nerves down, I think these walks help me a lot. I am able to calm down while also getting some air from outside. This helps me to create healthier coping patterns when I feel stressed or overwhelmed. Through this coping technique, I’ll not only be able to become healthier but also improve my mood.
