Trip to Beddagana Wetland Park

I visited the the “Beddagana Wetland Park” next to school. This trip was very eventful and fun. Personally, I love adventures and hiking really helped me destress from school stress.

Not only did I hike, I also experienced a nature walk with plants and birds. Nature has always been something that’s calmed me down. Whenever I move to different places, it’s usually city areas so it’s hard to find nature. Sri Lanka is well-known for its beaches and nature, which is one reason I love it here. In addition, I think this was a great family-bonding experience. I was able to be “technology-free” and in the present with my mom and dad. Ever since my sister left for college, it had become quieter between us so hiking together really helped us enjoy and make new memories together!

Hiking not only helps with finding tranquility and serenity but is also the ultimate cardio workout! It helps lower the chances of getting heart disease and also decrease cholesterol and fat. The man areas hiking builds strength is in my glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in my hips and lower legs. In conclusion, it strengthens the core and makes you more fit!

I hope to go hiking again as I really enjoyed this experience and really feel like I connected with nature and its beauty. Not only did I also feel more active and energetic after this hike, but also made new memories with my mom and dad!
