OSC Volleyball Game

Today we had a volleyball game against a local team that came to school. We started the game off well we played a 5-1 (5 hitters, 1 setter) and I was the setter playing well but a bit slow. However we won the first set 25-19 after making a big comeback from 11-19. We went into the second set with a completely changed team however keeping me on as a setters as we played a 4-2 (4 hitters, 2 setters). This meant I also got to play back court to help pass and cover. I managed to receive a lot of spikes and even got some good diving saves. The other setter played really well however that was not my set and not the teams as we lost the set 20-25 but, we kept our head up and stayed motivated to win the next set. We went into it well and my setting finally picked up and we played incredibly well with us coming back from 5-9 with one of my friends having an incredible serving streak after out comeback allowing us to win the 3rd set 25-12. During the 3rd set our hitting also picked up a lot and my outside hitter who I have a lot of chemistry with got about 7-10 spikes that set that all hit the floor. We switched sides and went for a 4th set which again we played incredibly probably SAISA winning form where we switched back to a 4-2 and Emilio who is another one of our outside hitters had and incredible set hitting some massive spikes and helping us win the game 25-17.

Now going into the 5th set we were only playing to 15. We got on to the court and got ready to receive we lost the first point by an ace but we won the next point back. It was my serve now I served none stop for 7 straight points playing really well together and hitting really well also. As we got to 8 points we went to switch sides as that is the mid point of the set that you switch at. We switched sides and I kept serving after another 3 serves that we won which brought the game to 11-1 the bench wanted me to jump serve which I had not done much prior to this game. However, I gave it a go and I had 2 fairly good jump serves that were received and played that we had to play on the second one I had a great diving save that kept the ball up and in play, which Ben our outside hitter hit straight down to win the point. The score was 13-1 and I hit the third jump serve down and in and we won the point with an ace. It was down to the last point 14-1, I went for my fourth jump serve and my luck ran out it went up and over and way out. I was a bit disappointed but we could still end it here, we received the serve to me I set and Emilio the middle hitter had one of the best spikes I’ve ever seen down into the court ending the game with an impressive 15-2 outcome.
