Prior to the curfew being imposed, my friends and I made it a priority to get some sort of physical activity in our everyday routines. Personally, I sometimes enjoy working out with other people because it helps me stay motivated and interact with others, whilst also improving myself and my personal fitness. It also makes the experience more fun, because we are staying active but also able to socialise. One example of a workout I did with a friend was a 30 minute HIIT workout by Cirque Du Soleil athletes. This was 30 minutes of continuous movement, targeting the full body and raising our heart rates. It included exercises for arms, core strength, legs and overall cardio. The benefits of this is that it is short and effective, and you don’t need any equipment or space aside from a yoga mat. My friends and I have also been biking together, playing sports such as volleyball and football, and just generally staying active. This also releases positive endorphins which lifts my overall mood, so it improves both physical and mental health.
