Site Support: Content Creating for the Karuna Trust Junior Team Website

For a while, there had been an issue amongst the Karuna Trust Junior Team; we had no website.

This was limiting our reach, making it difficult to share who we are and the projects we do. Because of this, I took the initiative with another member of the team to create an additional section to the already existing Karuna Trust Website, but with a section for the Junior Team. With this creation, my role was the website copywriter, where I wrote and edited the content of the textual descriptions. This included some of the member’s bio descriptions of their previous achievements and an introduction to what we do as a team. In this role, I also made sure to edit the descriptions given to me by my fellow members to the best degree possible. With the text that I wrote myself, it wasn’t just about filling space, it was about telling our story in a way that was clear, engaging, and meaningful to anyone visiting the site. Additionally, I wrote the descriptions of each of the projects we have completed so far, explaining our current accomplishments.

I worked alongside the website developer of Karuna Trust, who was in charge of developing the software and web applications. My role involved providing him with all the necessary information, which he then used to create the website platform that would highlight our mission, members, and accomplishments.

This experience of being able to help with aspects of the website creation not only helped improve my writing and editing skills, showcasing my creativity, but additionally taught me the importance of communication and teamwork. For instance, with the work I had written, I made sure to seek input from the senior Karuna Trust members to make adjustments based on their feedback. With this, I was able to learn from those who are more experienced in this aspect and communicate with them to be able to convey our ideas to the best way possible. This back-and-forth collaboration not only strengthened the website itself but also reinforced the importance of teamwork in achieving a shared vision.

This is the website link to the Karuna Trust website, and here is the link to the Karuna Trust Junior Team website.
