Fundraising Feats: 11/23 to 01/24 Service Updates
We started November by having a bake sale while SAISA Boys Volleyball was hosted here at OSC. We were able to make a decent amount of funding from this, due to the wider community we were selling to on this day, as the students from 10 other schools in South Asia were here too.
Later on in the month, a special guest, from the Sunday Times articles of Sri Lanka, had come to interview our service group to create an article. We explained what our service is, and how our in-school helping is expanded to the community of Colombo too. We were also given some tips on how to further improve as a service too, such as gaining more recognition and expanding our forms of help as well.
Another event that we took part in, was a fundraiser where we collaborated at another service groups event. This was the Hope for Kids Cricket Match, where Care for Paws had a drinks stand. When brainstorming for what to sell to raise money, we made sure to take into consideration of what exactly would be wanted by the people attending the match. Thus, we thought that cool drinks would be perfect. On this day, we raised a sufficient amount of money which we added to our account to use for a future camp or donation.
