DP 1 Goals
Creativity: My goal for joining the Art Club ASA is to broaden my artistic creativity. I plan to do this by specifically exploring various art media and techniques for the time of the next couple of months. Some examples of these different art media are watercolors, acrylics, ceramics, pastels, digital art, etc. I aim to attend this activity once a week on Tuesday after school for one hour. This goal is relevant to me because it will allow me to widen my artistic creativity in these mediums, and overall. This can then help with my skills in the DP Art subject, as well, as said before, can improve my personal creativity too.
Activity: The purpose of this activity is to prepare myself and my body in terms of fitness for the upcoming Track and Field season in November. The workouts that I plan to do will be focused on my legs. The reason for this is because of my ankle injury and problems, I have to be strengthing my legs to specifically strengthen my ankle. This connects back to track and field, as this sport uses the majority of the muscles from my legs, therefore helping out for future training in season 2 of SAISA. I will achieve this goal by following through with the assigned gym workout session in which I have been given by my instructor/coach from the summer, which I am now going to be doing at least once a week for 1 hour. As mentioned before, this goal is relevant to me at this time because it will help me to prepare my fitness for the track and field season that is coming in a couple of months.
Service: The Care for Paws OSC service organization is aimed at spreading awareness of the overpopulation of street dogs and cats around Sri Lanka, specifically in our community in Colombo. We aim to make a difference in this overpopulation, by hosting sterilization and vaccination camps which are free of cost to the community, and 100% funded by us. These funds were raised through many creative activities we plan all year long. For example, earlier this year we collaborated with the Elephant Sanctuary group to hold a World Animal Day Bazaar, which held many stations that helped us raise money for our camps. As this is the goal for the overall service group, I would say that this is my personal goal as well, in regard to helping out the community in many ways, but mainly through the sterilization camps, which we plan to achieve within the next 2 months. This goal is very relevant, as it helps the dogs to not overpopulate, as well as helps people around the area.
