Which is better working out alone or with friends?

After almost a year and a half of only working out at home and only being able to work out with friends through zoom or FaceTime, Sri Lanka has finally come to the point where public gyms and schools open.

Going out to public areas and meeting friends, and socializing with real-life people feels so surreal.

Gymming at home started to get really dull, and I also realized that I didn’t have enough weights to keep pushing my limits, but coincidentally one of my friends outside of school asked me to join him at a gym that could work out together. This was a fantastic idea because not only am I in a new environment to work out in, but I’m also getting a gym buddy that’ll help me push myself.

So after the process of applying for membership. My friend “Nishit” and I plan to work out Monday to Saturday from 6 AM to 7:30 AM because I need to go to school and get there on time.

This week I finished my first rotation of workouts, and it was so fun. I only realized that there was a difference between working out by yourself and workingout with others in a gym environment. Not only have I started lifting more weights, but I also have another form of motivation to show up every morning.

This just doesn’t come from having my friend around but the community in the gym because from gym attendees to other clients and Gym Trainer‘s everyone is there to help. Everyone is supporting you and your process of achieving your fitness goals.

Being in this environment has allowed me to consistently stay with my fitness goals and workout regimen and helped me amplify the skills that I’ve already known. For example, leg workout techniques because being in the gym, I can do a lot more exercises because of the availability of more equipment. It has also helped my collaborative skills because I’m able to not only just train with my friends, but I’m also able to help others if they seek help seem like they need help.

My goal is to continue working out In this gym till my membership expires, and the results that I have gained after this Long process will help me decide whether I want to pursue staying at the gym or shift back to gymming at home
