Personal Fitness Journey with Ben continued

Over the summer Ben and I managed to train once a week. We would mostly do basketball training as I previously talked about in my other post. We would do this training with Coach Praneeth and before or after we would do the workouts that we had planned that were more weight based. Personally I felt and saw a drastic improvement in my overall strength. When evaluating our increase in strength Ben and I primarily used bench press, dead lift and squat to measure our improvement. As for my improvement, in 2 months I went from being able to do a maximum of 50 kg to 65 kg bench press. My dead lift maximum originally was not measured but using all the plates at Ben’s gym my maximum was 75kg as that was the highest weight that he had. My squat was originally maxed out at 55kg and at the end of training it was a maximum of 75 kg as this was the full amount of weight at Ben’s gym.

There was drastic improvement for both Ben and I both within basketball and physically strength wise. We had planned to continue this Fitness Journey throughout 2021 till the end of the year though this was affected by COVID outbreak becoming increasingly worse and sending the country into lock down. I did not have weights at home so I was not able to keep up the same physique I had developed over the summer which in some ways decreased my motivation as I felt that if I was not going to be improving there would be no real point in trying to keep up the journey. I postponed the journey until we were able to go back to training the same way we were before the lock down was implemented. Though looking back at it now this was a huge mistake. I could have kept up the journey at home by maintaining what I had worked on over the summer, because I did not maintain my strength I have to start from a weaker point than I did at the start of summer. This is mainly for the reason that I had little to no motivation during lock down to exercise therefore losing most of the strength I had gained training.

Once I am able to find a gym or location to train at I will commence the journey again.
