CAS Goals

Creativity:

Last year I wasn’t really able to have many music performances in school. This year I plan on involving myself in more school performances to develop and strengthen my presentation and singing skills on stage. I plan on doing this every second week, during lunch breaks or even after school as people are leaving. I want to work together with my peers and have a variety of performances, some solos as well as collaborations with other performers. Music is a way I express myself, and I also believe that It can really bring our school community together. My goal is to not only focus on  improving my skills but to also become more comfortable on stage. I always feel constricted and nervous before going on stage, therefore performing more frequently could help reduce my angst before all shows in the future and create an all round better experience for me.

Activity:

Last year I didn’t really focus much on physical activity or understand the importance it had in maintaining a healthy, balanced life. It was only towards the end of the year that I had the motivation to become more active during the covid lockdown. Then after covid restrictions were uplifted I started going to the gym. This year my goal is to continue this practice and make it a standard routine for me to go to the gym at least three times a week. I want to monitor my progress by tracking my weights, and seeing how I progress overtime. For me going to the gym isn’t only to see results, it’s my own quality time where I can spend at least an hour focusing on pushing myself. My biggest priority is maintaining a balanced lifestyle, by keeping an equilibrium between committing to school and making time for my social life. Sometimes things can get too intense and overwhelming in the process, so having a set time to just work on myself will really help me remain healthy, strong and stable, which is why I want to make this my goal.

Service:

I am in the service Care for Paws, which targets the growing numbers of street dogs in Sri Lanka by funding sterilization programs in order to help lessen these numbers. I have always had a soft spot for dogs. I love their endless kindness and loyalty if you treat them right. Having two dogs myself, I can’t imagine the hardships these dogs have to face alone on the streets. Which is why I aim to make a difference and actively involve myself in the sterilization process by raising money for it as well as making sure it is successfully carried out.
