Maintaining Health in a Chaotic Pandemic with a Dog

With the quarantine in Sri Lanka preventing me from having the chance to leave my home area, I have had to find a way to adapt to these changes. One of the essentials of maintaining my mental health has been diversifying my activities during the day. Because the school has been almost entirely online, it has meant that most have been on their computers for many hours. This is not a healthy lifestyle due to the lack of motion during these school periods. This is why during my free time I have spent going out to help refresh myself and engage my body. Small activities like these are essential to help maintain one’s mental health. But there are more types of health that also must be focused on. For instance, as part of maintaining a healthy body, I have spent 40 minutes each day exercising to help both release stress but as well as help maintain a healthy body during these trying times. From riding my bike to doing cardio activities, it has been a goal of mine to maintain a healthy lifestyle/body during this prevailing pandemic. *note add Dog*

But physical activities are not just all that was focused on during my breaks between school. I would also when I could spend time playing guitar and testing out new songs to practice and play when I could. Testing my creativity out has been a great alternate form of stress reliving as it allows me to focus on a singular task and ignore everything else. Other activities such as playing games and reading have also been great forms of stress relievers as well.

Overall, it has been a difficult year trying to cope with the stress of the upcoming finals, howeverI have been doing a good job at maintaining a mostly stable mindset by making sure I maintain a well body and help distract myself.

In regards to my learning outcomes I focused on strength and growth. LO1
