SAISA Boys Football 2019 Kit Design

After designing the kit for the volleyball team, for which both of us played, Joshua Wright and I designed the logo and kit for the boy’s football team that will travel to Amman in 2019. As in the previous design, I came up with the first designs, we then chose the better one and proceeded in designing the Gecko Athletics Shirt – which is usually worn during the opening ceremony of the tournament and between matches – and the playing kit.

This design is similar to the one I did for volleyball

This design is interesting, but may be too complicated.

The designing process took several days to complete, especially due to other work commitments and our aim to perfect as much as possible, which involved several tests and trying out many designs. I had two initial ideas in mind, so I made a plan and sent it to Joshua. Due to its simplicity, we chose the first design.

We wanted the playing shirts to be different from the previous ones, but still keeping in mind that they should be simple, since we agreed that looks good. We intended to use the school colors: blue, red and white, and wanted to have a horizontal stripe below the chest. The final Gecko Athletics shirt designs we handed in looked like this:

Despite requiring much time and commitment, I enjoy designing kits, since it is a nice change from doing academic work and it is fun designing something with other people, especially seeing all the different ideas I did not think of myself, which also improves my collaboration skills.
