CAS Reflection

Looking back on my CAS journey, I was able to accomplish many things ranging in all three of the CAS strands, activity, creativity and service. One of the earliest activities that I did was kitesurfing. This was something that I did for the first time and it is something that I will continue for the rest of my life. It was a new sport that was challenging to learn but I was able to stick with it and learn the basics. A few other activities that I took part in was tennis and working out. Both of these were essential to me in keeping fit during Covid lockdowns. Through these activities I was able to stay healthy and in shape which is something that is important to me. Baking for the first time was something that I did to achieve the strand of creativity. As I was new to baking, I had some of peers who were experienced bakers guide me to creating amazing cup cakes. Baking was something that I never thought I’d do but I am happy that I did it as now bake myself something once in a while when I am bored. Due to lockdowns, service was a challenge. In DP1 and DP2, my service groups relied heavily on face to face interactions with the kids. However we were able to adjust and adapt to make the service sessions online which was great on our part. I and the rest of service members should great resilience in being able to adapt our service sessions depending on the Covid rules. Service was a great way for me to collaborate and get in touch with global issues and their implications. For my CAS project, I decided to coach middle school and primary school football. This project was a lot of fun for me as football is something that I am very passionate about. It was a great way for me to demonstrate my determination, my collaboration and planning. Reflecting back, I was able to achieve all of the learning outcomes one way or another which is a success in my eyes. With me achieving all of the learning outcomes, I was able to teach my self so much and I’ll be able to use what I have learned in the future. I do feel that I could have been more engaged with posting a lot of my experiences on my blog as I did much more than what is posted.
