RCCI service update

The RCCI September – October update

As a service leader, organizing fun and interactive activities every Thursday is so important. The co-leader and I just marked our 3 months of being service leaders! And we couldn’t be more proud 🙂 The planning process is very difficult since all of us finish school at 2:40 and barely have the time to set up and organize the weekly activity before they arrive.

The 19th of September

We planned out a movie afternoon full of popcorn, sprite and vegetable buns! It was a fun experience to watch Madagascar altogether, but also to see them laugh and giggle at every scene with Gloria.

The RCCI members watching the movie in the primary library.

We then moved into Ms. Nyriz’s classroom, where a few of us had popped the popcorn and put seats around a big table to have a little party!

Of course, we wanted to fill the whole red tub with popcorn but surprisingly, we did have enough to fill it up, we just didn’t have enough time:)

The 26th of September

We held our service on the primary field, where the RCCI members spent the afternoon playing around with the equipment and especially the slides!

Lakshan and I going down the slide! He is so smiley and always enjoys his time at OSC!

The 17th of October

As this service day was on the SAISA travel week, the Gecko Inc. group members joined us since they also barely had any members left. This was great because we were able to show another service group how awesome ours is! Everyone had fun in the art room, where we cooled down from the heat and had so much fun working on coloring pages!

In these two pictures, I was working with one of the teacher helpers that was having so much fun telling me about what she was doing with her artwork. I pointed out that she had gotten her nails painted, and she went on for so long telling me about her multi colored nails, it was incredibly rewarding, and it made the whole struggle of planning the afternoon worthwhile 🙂
