Plant for the Planet Global Board Meeting

On 3rd April, in our weekly meeting for PFTP Global Board, we discussed three main goals: 1. To set up the podcast in our headquarter in Germany; 2. To organize another Global Youth Summit (Climate Talk); 3. Overcome potential difficulties lied ahead under today’s issues.

Meeting agenda and minute

For our podcast, the main challenges we encounter now are to obtain good but inexpensive equipment (We would like to save our funds for future UNEP projects), to ensure consistency in regular episodes, and inefficiency because our members are spread around the world. Right now, our solutions to the lack of equipment is to ask the headquarter to find resources for us, possibly to use those in one of the local recording studios. For the episodes, we will film a few backups just in case, and to have a list of guests prepared to talk. As for the inevitable inefficiency due to diverse locations of our members, we would just have one person or a few in Europe to travel to Germany to record.

For the Youth Summit, we planned to first do some icebreaker games, talk about our members experiences in Glasgow COP 23, then introduce our new Forestguesser activity using google slides. The main theme this time would be on forest preservation.

We need the foundation board’s assistance in planning and localizing new big projects, and we would face an internal reconstructing soon. We also have to think of ways to mitigate risks and constantly refer back to major global issues, especially the energy crisis or upheavals under the influence of the Russia Ukraine war. Challenges lie ahead of us, and we have to be aware of what roles we are playing as UNEP members, how big an impact we can make, and who we can help.
