A poster by the author for the purpose of asking for students’ art submission to Katha

It was a great decision of mine to join the Advocate (Or you call the Katha Magazine now), as I see it as an opportunity to make contribution to the OSC community with a small group of friends. We were working on our first issue for the past few sessions, and now we are calling everyone to send in their creative piece before 28th February. It is very challenging for a group of 4 to initiate a whole magazine and to promote our ideas around the school, but we are all thrilled with the final version of our first issue, which will be about Valentines and the Oscars, as they are the most significant events that’s happening right now, something we could use to connect everyone in the school. (LO3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience) Right now we have pages on Oscar Pregame, Chemistry of Attention, Umbrella Couples, Pick-up Lines, Dates suggestions, Bad dates stories, etc. For student’s submission, we are asking for photography, anecdotes, creative writing pieces, artwork and poems. I worked on Canva for my pages, and I felt my skills being improved when working on the aesthetics. We expect less people would make the submission for the first edition, so we are starting on some posters to be put into the bulletin, it is the first challenge we face and we will try many ways to get everyone to submit. (LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process)

We have great content in our magazine, together with peers submission, so our first issue is worth looking forward to!
