On Thursday the 2nd of November, members of the hope for kids service group visited the CCC house Mahragama. The CCC house provides accommodation and care for cancer patients who are undergoing treatment, both for adults and children. Luckily, we had the opportunity to explore the different sections of the hospital and meet with some of the patients.

The visit allowed me to really recognise the tough situation these patients have to undergo and how meaningless some of our problems are in comparison to the magnitude of what these people have to face. What surprised me the most was the patients reactions to us simply giving them a visit and offering our support to to them. Having this kind of direct connection with the patients can be really impactful. It also gave me a sense of responsibility as if I should be providing as much support as I can and encourage more people to provide their support and donate. Overall, the experience was incredibly helpful in providing motivation for the service members to continue spreading awareness and offereing support.
