For the past 8-10 weeks of the first block of ASAs, I have been practising my cricket skills in the cricket activity every Tuesday. Throughout this period, my balling and batting techniques have drastically improved to the point at which I am confident in my abilities to participate in the community cricket match in January. I have also seen improvement in my reaction time and being able to swing through the ball in a smooth movement in addition to improved bowling speeds. This activity has been a great way to stay physically active while practising for an event that will allow the hope for kids service group to raise funds. I would also like to acknowledge the growth of my friend Dimath who has come to the point where he can accurately ball and target the wickets. The most memorable moment from my time in this activity was when Mr Poulus had joined us for the end of the session and decided to have a few overs. He is a very experienced pace bowler and i found it quite difficult to drive through his throws. On some occasions, I even missed the ball completely and was left feeling embarrassed. However, that all changed afterwards when I put my bat down and drove through the ball, sending it to the other side of the field. Unfortunately I didn’t capture a video of the shot but it was a memorable moment nonetheless.
