Recently, our service group took on the role to bring awareness to children’s cancer by hosting a day on which everyone would wear yellow colours to school. The international awareness symbol for Childhood Cancer is the gold ribbon. Recognising the fact that not everyone would have access to gold coloured clothing, we decided to go with the obvious choice and landed on yellow as the closest alternative. The purpose of this event was to bring awareness to the children suffering from cancer, in representation of their undeniable courage to take on such a challenge and remain hopeful for a brighter future. In the end, it was a very successful day as nearly all of the students came to school sporting yellow shirts, hats, and even glasses in support of the children in this cause.
