I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes practicing my guitar again since I dont really have much to do and I needed something to kill the time. I first started with enter sandman which I practiced for 50 minutes. The reason i did this was because I used to know how to play the song years ago and I wanted to learn it again. I am close to knowing the entire song but of course I cannot do the guitar solo since it is so intricate and complex and I do not have an amplifier which is required to play the solo. I spend the rest of my time learning R U MINE by arctic monkeys. I did this because I used to know how to play that song aswell but years ago, so I want to learn what i have forgotten.
Overall, I can see the progress that is coming. A lot of guitar playing is based on pure muscle memory, so the things that I have forgotten are slowing coming back such as hammer ons and basic chords. My hands are used to making shapes on the guitar fretboard so the memory is coming back. After practicing 1 song for 50 minutes, a lot of experinece with the song came back, and it felt really good to have the muscle memory return, like riding a bike after a long time, you just need a little practice. I will eventually learn the solo but that will take a while since I am not very good at the guitar and I would like to learn things such as more chords and scales before I end up doing song specific solos.
The learning outcome for this session would be perseverence and commitment alongside strengths and areas of growth. I am persevering with practicing my guitar as part of my CAS and such I am commited. I am also seeing my guitar strenghts such and areas of growth such as hammer ons.
