Eleez’s DP2 CAS Goals

With DP2 just starting it is clear that many of my initial goals have either been achieved, remodelled or changed completely. While I still plan on thriving in all aspects of CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) I will develop new goals, shaped by my current interests and pursuits

Creativity:

Last year I developed much as an artist, because of both my interest in the arts and my being in Visual Arts. This year I plan on involving myself in both school community-based and externally based activities. Theatre has always been a class of interest to me but since I don’t get to practice the performing arts so often I have made it a goal to do so. I have signed up to be in the Senior Production, I haven’t been in a school play since 9th Grade so I look forward to enjoying the experience. Furthermore, I have involved myself in the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) which takes a trip to Thailand in early October. These experiences will help me develop as a performer and have a more worldly view of the realm of the arts.

Activity:

Last year I focused a lot on my career as a swimmer, my relationship with swimming has been on and off since 6th Grade. In 10th and 11th Grade, however, I dedicated myself to attending biweekly (twice a week) practices with Killer Whale Aquatics. Here, I developed my existing skills, already being a strong swimmer I found it important to keep in the touch with the craft. This year I want a little bit more variety and potentially compete in local and international games. Thus, I have signed up for SAISA Volleyball, my friend Miku Higashi got me interested in the sport and since then I have been working toward refining my skills to become a decent player who is able to join the travelling team. Because of the variety I want for myself this year in terms of activity I will continue diving and during one of the upcoming breaks will potentially get my Adventure Diver certification so I can do unsupervised wreck dives.

Service:

This year, I am officially the co-leader of the service group, Room to Read with Thevuni Kumarasena. We have several plans for the near future and will be continuing all previous sessions and events we’ve done. Our priority is to sort out our Secondhand Bookstore which commenced in the last quarter of DP1. Alongside, this school-run service I plan on doing similar activities to those done I’ve before such as beach sweeps. I also want to get together with a few of my friends to run a charity event to distribute food to people in need given the many hardships collectively being faced.

CAS Project:

As for my CAS project, I want it to be interdisciplinary, combing several aspects of CAS makes for an all-encompassing project which I tend to enjoy a lot more.
