Eleez’s DP1 CAS Goals

COVID-19 has presented me with the opportunity to give myself more attention and divide my time accordingly to do more activities that encourage creativity, health, and service. During the summer holiday, I found myself emersed in creative and active routines during the summer, which made my life feel much more balanced. This year I hope to include myself in several activities so as to occupy myself and hopefully also improve my time management skills.

Creativity: To pursue art as an extracurricular and involve myself in school events such as productions, SAISA Art and so on. Ideas: Teach people about topics (ie: languages) either through tutoring or creating content. Possibly publicize art online (platforms: Instagram, Twitter). I play piano, rehearsals and camps are held throughout the year, I plan to continue attending and being a part of these events. For the past year, I have been quite keen on learning a new instrument, like a brass instrument.

Activity: I want to make sure I stay fit and healthy for the next 18 months, I plan to do so by involving myself in a combination of high intensity and low-intensity activities. Swimming and badminton will be my HI activities. Going on walks, skating, diving, etc could be some of the leisure activities I do. Swimming is my sport, I used to do it twice a week but because of the COVID situation I haven’t been going as often so it’s been limited to once a week.

Service: To ensure that I am taking care of my environment well and also help those around me. Recycling within my compound is one way of making sure my home environment is well taken care of. Because of the current economic situation, some friends of mine have been conducting some charities and giveaways which I also involve myself in and hope to continue. I could also donate to orphanages which in turn cleans my own environment while providing for others. My school service group is Room to Read, we have several prospective plans for the construction of the library at the school we are currently working with.

Extra: After corresponding with several companies I have found there is a solar panel company conducting internships, accepting students as brand ambassadors. This could be another possible way to involve myself in the movement of switching to renewable energy.
