As a new DP 1 student this year, we embarked on the well-known and remarked journey of the DP 1 trip to Kithugala. This trip which takes place every year is organized so students who are new to the DP program can bond, build relationships, and have fun as they tackle the challenge of the new DP system together. This year our grade went to Kithugala, located in a beautiful part of Sri Lanka surrounded by stunning waterways and terrain. As a bonus every year we are joined by Borderlands who bring us along to do all of the fun activities which are located around this beautiful river. Throughout the 3 day trip, they had planned different activities for us for each day, thus, when we arrived we headed straight into the river go to white water rafting (my favorite part of the trip). This experience was quite thrilling and it was something that I had never experienced before; I thought it was quite remarkable. As the trip progressed, the activities proved to be as equally as exciting as the last, as our grade went canyoning (Marvel Canyon) and explored a historical cave (Belilena Cave). Throughout this trip, I learned lots of valuable lessons, and bonds which I think were highly important as I head into this new chapter of my life.
