It has become a yearly goal for Eco-Schools to participate in a books and cookies afternoon in the library. These sessions allow us to present our service group and inform the community about what we do and why we do it. For me this is really important not just because it is my service, but also because I find it important to inform people about this. So on the 22nd of November I not only celebrated my birthday, but the achievements of Eco-Schools.
I presented together with my two leaders in training Sam and Millan, and we went through what we do as an eco-schools, our achievements, our goals, and reasons for some of the newer students joining. I think this last point was a great one to raise as it presents people’s interest in taking care of the environment and could encourage others to join as well.
This presentation took collaboration, the taking of multiple perspectives, a lot of initiative and planning as well as perseverance past people not showing up or not being involved in the process.
