Bullet Journal for the New Year

I feel like the logical time to buy a bullet journal and start using it would be as the new year starts that way you’d have one journal per calendar year. However, I actually started my first journal in October of 2020 so I don’t actually start anything with the new year I just make some new pages to show the switch of the year and also to record resolutions or goals that I make.

This year I decided to challenge myself and do a more complicated design for the 2022 pages compared to the normal more linear design I would go for where I don’t have to make complicated fonts or learn how to draw certain elements. But this year I wanted to do something that felt very serene and nature based so the first thing I did was just to look up some yearly page inspiration, here are some of the ones I really liked.

So I decided to have some flowers and leaves framing the 2022 lettering in the middle, basing the flower on the 5 petal flowers in the image above.

I think the biggest challenge was trying not to look too closely at the drawing because whenever I do that I always feel like it looks messy and not very good. However, when you take a step back from it allows you to see the whole thing and less the small mistakes or extra lines. I actually ended up really liking the design and I think it’s one of the better ones in my bullet journal so far!

Here are the two pages I made, one just has the year and the flowers and the other has boxes for any resolutions. I have sections for mental, physical and reading resolutions.
