Day 5

Finally, the last day of the trip before I get to go home, meet my family again and enjoy the weekend! After breakfast and saying our goodbyes to the remarkable BOB staff, we started onĀ our final bike ride of the trip, a 32km long canal ride with amazing scenery and a blissful environment.

Overview of cycling day 5 (Credit: Mr Grady)

After our 2 hour cycle, we hopped on the bus which would take us back to Colombo. On the way, we also stopped for lunch at a restaurant down the road where I was served Lime soda without lime!

Overall, this trip has made me appreciate nature more and served as some quality physical training. I’ve gotten closer with my friends and overall, made some unique memories! Special thanks to Ms Jackson, Mr Grady and Mr Peter who organised and took care of us during the week! It was a great experience!

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Over the week, I have significantly improved my cycling skills and fitness.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

The trip was very physically intensive, however I pulled through and persevered throughout the week completing all the activities we did.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The trip brought all of us closer as we looked out for each other on the road and in camp. Cooking for each other each night made us work hard as a team and in general, it was a great experience together.
