Starting the new year with not only online school, but a lockdown, is extremely challenging. Having some goals and things to aim for outside of academics could be extremely useful. Here are my goals for DP2.

Creativity: As I have not been writing as regularly as of late, I want to start writing again on a more regular basis. I would also like to find a new place to write, in order to adjust my writing style for a new audience.

Another thing I would like to do is some more photography. I did some often last year, and am starting to really enjoy it. Ideally, I could make it into some kind of project or challenge for myself. Various wildlife often infiltrates my backyard, which I hope to capture this year.

Activity: Keeping fit will be very important during lockdown, as most of the day is spent sat down in front of a computer. I therefore hope to continue running and workouts, in order to maintain a decent level of fitness. Currently, I run around 6.5 km every other day. I need to start recording these runs using an app, and setting myself target times to beat every time. When restrictions are hopefully lifted later in the year, I look forward to being able to play basketball and futsal with others again, particularly the weekly basketball sessions I usually have.

Service: Having found a new service last year in RCCI, I this year aim to build upon the work that we did last year. We spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas and working on different concepts, which we hope fall into place this year, restrictions permitting. We are also eager to check on the fundraiser that was started during online schooling at the end of last year.

I also aim to fulfill the CAS Learning Outcomes to the best of my abilities. Last year, I mostly fulfilled Learning Outcomes 1 and 4. This year, Learning Outcomes 3, 6, and 7 should be targeted more.

I also need to complete the CAS Project at some point this year, which ties into Learning Outcome 3, (Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience). I still have to brainstorm ideas for this, but I would like it to be related to something that I am interested in, such as Sports. My top idea at the moment is for a travel/tourism related project, but I am not sure what that would entail.
