SAISA Basketball in Jordan, Amman

Finally, traveling and having competed in the tournament we had lots of fun this year traveling across Jordan to the the Dead Sea where we bonded as a team and competed at ACS (American Community School). Although we were hoping to follow with the performance we had last year, this year we came 6th overall pushing ourselves further back from the 3rd place we achieved last year. Having lost our second game to Lincoln on the second day not knowing the issue this would cause, we then played against Bombay who ended up placing third overall in the tournament, they had beat us on the final day in a somewhat close match, 47 – 57 and we ended our tournament early due to losing this game. Knowing well that we could have beat Lincoln as we on lost by 2 points, 40 – 42 we became frustrated that we didn’t. Knowing that winning that game would have led us to play Chennai, a team we had already beaten once, we knew that if we had we could have at least played 4th as after that game we would go against TAISM from Oman, a team who was strong that we had already lost to.

Losing that game would have taken us to the game to fight for 3rd or 4th place and we could have possibly have come third carrying a stronger mindset into the game against Bombay as they came close to losing to Chennai. Overall, this SAISA basketball season was an enjoyable experience and I hope that next year our school’s team, regardless of whether or not I am in i,t will perform better.
