On Saturday (21st of October) the boys and girls SAISA volleyball teams (including me) took part in a small volleyball tournament that lasted from 8 am to 3 pm. Taking part in the tournament was of course our schools volleyball teams along with 3 other local teams. In this small tournament each team played each other so we played a total of 3 games. In this tournament we played hard and for the most part well but we only ended up winning a single game, losing the other games by 2 sets to none and 2 sets to one, finishing us in 3rd place. The OSC girls team did very well and won every one of there games, putting them in first. This volleyball tournament is similar and higher leveled compared to other SAISA volleyball teams, so this tournament was a preparation for our hosted SAISA volleyball tournament that will happen from the 2nd to 4th of November (Thursday to Saturday). Taking from the experience we are better prepared to play n front of a home crowd, play multiple games over the course of a day and know what to expect in terms of the level of play. Following last years SAISA boys volleyball win (I participated in) we are very confident to go into this years tournament and secure another win, hoping to lose no games and no sets.
