In this Service Group, we work with students in rural villages in Sri Lanka in a virtual cultural exchange program. With guidance from the U.S. Peace Corps and partner English teachers, we have been teaming up with Tamil and Sinhala students from 6 different local schools located in rural villages across the country to converse in English language conversation and help create bridges. Through this service, we get to explore aspects of each other’s cultures through these conversations while at the same time helping the local Sri Lankan kids build their skills and confidence in talking in English.
