On the 26th of September, we, the HFK team, successfully hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme, organized by the Indira Cancer Trust. Held at the OSC PMPR from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, the event brought together a wide range of participants, including OSC students, parents, staff, and service members, all eager to learn more about breast cancer awareness and show their support. The program was conducted in both Sinhala and English, ensuring that everyone in the community could engage with the important information being shared. One of the most powerful moments of the day was seeing the OSC community unite by wearing pink, a symbol of solidarity in the fight against breast cancer. It was inspiring to witness so many people, from all areas of our school, come together for this cause.

During the event, we were proud to present a generous donation of Rs. 50,000 to Suwa Arana from the Hope for Kids team. This donation will help support the ongoing care and assistance for those battling breast cancer, an initiative that aligns perfectly with our mission to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. The Indira Cancer Trust’s main objective was to raise awareness of breast health within our community, and by the end of the day, we could see how deeply the message resonated with those who attended. The information shared was invaluable, and the discussions that followed showed just how important it is to keep this conversation going. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported this event. Together, we took another step toward increasing awareness and providing much, needed support for those affected by breast cancer.
