After completing the yearbook, I felt a sense of fulfilment and pride in the work we had achieved as a team. In addition to coordinating, managing, and supporting the members throughout the process, I took on the responsibility of designing the cover page and creating the section dividers. These elements were crucial in setting the tone for the entire book, and I dedicated a lot of effort to ensure they captured the spirit of the year. Continuing from the grade 9 Yearbook, I was able to see a significant improvement in my designing skills, and I am eager to continue honing my skills by contributing to the upcoming yearbook team.
As we moved closer to the deadline, I focused on refining the pages, assisting others with layouts, and finalizing the content. After what felt like years of progress, Ms Gayani, one of the yearbook supervisors, called me to the Library to show the first draft of the yearbook. This draft for me was a reward, a reflection of the great accomplishments I achieved as a leader and a member of a hardworking team.
One of the highlights for me was receiving feedback from my peers and teachers after the yearbook was published. I was thrilled to hear how many students said it was one of the best yearbooks the school had ever produced. That acknowledgement was incredibly rewarding and reinforced the value of the time and energy we had invested in the project. It was a challenging journey, but seeing the positive response from my school community made it all worth it. Moreover, at the end-of-year assembly, Peter and I were called onto the stage in front of the entire school. As we stood there, I felt proud not only of the final product but also of our entire team and the hard work we put into every detail. It was a moment of recognition that truly capped off an unforgettable experience, and I walked away with a deeper sense of leadership and teamwork.
